The Adventuress x Island Lab
From October 17-21, the first cohort of 17 artists and scientists and 7 professional crew aboard The Adventuress, a historic 133-foot wooden schooner built in 1913 that operates as a floating classroom in the Salish Sea, Puget Sound, and San Juan Islands. The vessel is run by the non-profit organization Sound Experience is dedicated to environmental preservation, marine science, and maritime history. In a collaboration with Island Lab, a coastal resilience initiative that hosts experiential gatherings on chartered ships and member boats to connect individuals, locations, and concepts. I was one of the lucky few who got to experience this magnificent adventure. For more info on future gatherings at sea, contact Sean at Island Lab.
